Safety and Compliance Specialist

Job SummaryThe HSE Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, while also contributing to the development of project safety plans and protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Conduct Safety Training: Participate in the creation and delivery of field safety orientation training to ensure employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely.
- Conduct Daily Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and working conditions to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safe work practices.
- Monitor Safety Equipment and Devices: Observe employees to ensure they are using prescribed safety equipment, such as glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators, and clothing, and inspect fire-prevention equipment, first-aid supplies, and other safety devices.
- Investigate Accidents and Incidents: Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive safety measures.
- Document Safety Incidents and Violations: Document all accidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions or behavior.
- Develop Safety Plans and Protocols: Assist in the development of standardized job safety analysis (JSA), corporate safety and health management program (SHMP), and project-specific safety plans (PSSP).
- Conduct Weekly Safety Meetings: Lead weekly safety meetings with employees to instruct them on Bernhard LLC's safety practices and requirements.
- 5 Years of Construction Experience: Possess at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
- OSHA 30hr Card: Hold an OSHA 30hr card for the Construction Industry.
- First Aid and CPR Training: Completed First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
- Specialized Training: Possess specialized training relevant to the scope of work.
- Strong Attention to Detail: Demonstrate strong attention to detail with good analytical skills.
- Effective Communication: Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC): Possess a Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) certification.
This role requires occasional travel to job sites and office locations, with a physical work environment that includes ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles, as well as exposure to outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
