With over four decades of expertise, Educational Credential Evaluators Inc. (ECE) stands as a leading authority in comparative international education. Our primary service, educational credential evaluation, assists various stakeholders, including counselors and admissions officers, in understanding how foreign academic qualifications align with U.S. standards. As the global demand for skilled professionals rises, ECE plays a crucial role in credential verification for employers. We are a nonprofit organization with a dedicated team of over 100 professionals.

Role Summary

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for facilitating local computer network operations. This includes the installation, modification, and minor repair of personal computer hardware and software systems, along with providing technical support and training to users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install or replace hardware components and peripherals, such as monitors and printers, at user workstations.
  • Set up and configure new computer systems.
  • Act as a technical support resource for hardware and software issues, resolving problems or liaising with vendors as necessary.
  • Train staff on new and updated IT equipment and software, including presentation tools and other technologies.
  • Serve as a backup for basic system administration tasks in the absence of the network administrator.
  • Test and evaluate new and upgraded IT systems.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support through troubleshooting, bug fixes, and technical documentation updates.
  • Utilize logical reasoning to assess various solutions and approaches to technical challenges.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with one to three months of related experience or training. Some college education is preferred.

IT Experience:

One to two years of experience in PC hardware and software troubleshooting is desirable.

Language Skills:

No foreign language skills are required, but experience in a global organization is advantageous.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and understand ratios and percentages.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory duties and reports directly to the Senior Director of Technology.

Work Environment:

This role allows for remote work with occasional office attendance as needed. The office is located in a central area.
