The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) invites you to become a Regional Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist (RVRS) within our committed team. This role focuses on delivering Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) to assist students in achieving and sustaining employment.

In this position, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and enhancing the delivery of Pre-ETS for students in your assigned region. The position offers flexibility with a hybrid work model, requiring attendance at a local duty station to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert consultation and training to VR Supervisors and Counselors who liaise with local high schools and educational administrators.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative agreements with local school districts to ensure effective delivery of Pre-Employment Transition Services.
  • Oversee and evaluate contracts for Pre-Employment Transition Services, ensuring compliance with established deliverables.
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with contractors to assess service delivery and review performance reports.
  • Develop innovative outreach strategies to broaden the reach of Pre-Employment Transition Services.
  • Facilitate group sessions providing general Pre-Employment Transition Services to students with disabilities, in collaboration with DVR staff and contractors.
  • Engage in various professional development opportunities, including workshops and conferences.

Qualifications:

We seek candidates with:

  • In-depth knowledge of DVR service delivery policies and relevant federal regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven leadership abilities and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of employer expectations regarding hiring individuals with disabilities.
  • Proficiency in office technology, including MS Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to cultivate productive relationships with local educational institutions, contractors, and community partners.

Who Should Consider This Opportunity?

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Current certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), or
  • A Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, counseling, or a related field, or
  • A Master's degree with substantial coursework in rehabilitation counseling, coupled with relevant professional experience.

Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of four years of relevant paid experience in vocational rehabilitation or related fields, with potential substitutions for unpaid experience in advocacy or employment settings.
