Position Overview:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a crucial role in acquiring, assessing, coordinating, and disseminating the necessary information and approvals to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within financial constraints, and to the specified quality standards. The APM is tasked with safeguarding and advancing the interests of both the organization and the client while embodying the qualities of an emerging leader. While the paths for growth and advancement may differ, most team members serve as APMs for a duration of two to six years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold HITT's safety standards diligently.
  • Ensure all required documentation is properly filed.
  • Assist in the formulation and oversight of project budgets for assigned tasks.
  • Develop comprehensive pre-construction RFP packages.
  • Aid in organizing project meetings, establishing milestones, and preparing monthly reports for owners.
  • Set up job processes including RFIs, submittals, and payment applications, while also approving payment requests and negotiating changes with subcontractors.
  • Update project timelines; ensure quality control and manage overall project logistics.
  • Support the project closeout process effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma is required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business from an accredited institution is highly preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction, particularly with a commercial general contractor.
  • Prior experience on commercial job sites is strongly preferred.
  • A genuine passion for the construction industry and a keen eye for quality.
  • Proficiency in sector-specific software systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on professionalism and clarity.
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for the construction field.
  • Ability to gather and interpret data effectively, translating it into meaningful insights.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
