Role Overview:

The Senior Project Completion Engineer will oversee and manage completion and commissioning activities related to HVAC systems and mechanical interfaces. This includes planning, preparation, execution, and handover to Operations/Plant Integrity.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and uphold safe working practices during commissioning to ensure compliance with company safety regulations, aiming for zero incidents, injuries, and losses.
  • Contribute to the formation of a commissioning team with the necessary skills and capacity to execute commissioning on SAS systems.
  • Draft and maintain commissioning procedures for specific systems.
  • Issue and manage commissioning boundary documentation to facilitate efficient construction and commissioning timelines.
  • Oversee commissioning activities throughout all phases to ensure safe and effective execution.
  • Ensure adequate training and development of personnel within the commissioning team.
  • Participate in MC verification of equipment and packages to achieve Ready for Commissioning status, ensuring a seamless transition of Commissioning Packages from Construction to Commissioning.
  • Monitor punch work in the field and manage punch list documentation and clearance.
  • Ensure that drawings and documents are updated with changes identified during commissioning and that as-built documentation is accurately revised by the responsible contractor.
  • Facilitate experience transfer from/to other relevant projects and towards the base organization.
  • Identify and address risks and opportunities related to commissioning.
  • Evaluate and verify all procedures and work instructions utilized during commissioning, ensuring comprehension among relevant personnel.
  • Assess provisions for commissioning in design.
  • Maintain a close and constructive relationship with contractors and operations.
  • Manage, execute, and supervise commissioning activities.
  • Responsible for the handover of the facility to Operations by issuing Technical Acceptance Certificates (TAC) and Ready for Operation Certificates (RFOC).
  • Engage in the development of strategies, budgets, plans/schedules, procedures, routines, ATS requirements, FAT, UFAT, RISK, and work processes for commissioning.
  • Execute commissioning in accordance with clients' governing documents.
  • Identify and recommend necessary temporary measures for commissioning execution.
  • Participate in relevant engineering and construction meetings to ensure effective execution of commissioning tasks.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • University degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Results-oriented with a strong focus on safety.
  • Experience in oil and gas projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of AkerBP governing documentation.
  • Strong team-building, cooperative, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage responsibilities and handle a high workload.
  • Proven capability to drive activities to completion on schedule.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with contractors.
