Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Business Development to spearhead the development of solar, energy storage, and hybrid renewable energy projects in the U.S. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy project development and a proven track record of executing complex energy projects and/or transactions.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in renewable energy project development, preferably in commercial, industrial, utility scale, and community solar.
- Successful track record of executing complex energy projects and/or transactions.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, including a creative and proactive work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute greenfield project development strategy.
- Lead development of renewable energy projects from inception to successful financial close, working with in-house and external subject matter experts.
- Work closely with internal and external resources to structure, negotiate, and close project transactions.
- Maintain a thorough and current knowledge of solar electric market conditions, rebate and tax incentives, and electric utility rate schedules.
- Develop projects with PPA / EaaS / Community Solar offtake structures.
- Responsible for budget and driving profitability of renewable energy projects.
- Work with regulatory and policy experts to incorporate policy, incentives, and power market changes into development strategy.
- Provide input into company business plan and development strategy.
