Role Overview:
This position as a Prevention Advocate (Full Time or Part Time) involves providing direct prevention services to various communities, educational institutions, businesses, and other targeted groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and facilitate educational programs and group sessions focused on prevention initiatives, including suicide prevention and peer leadership.
- Conduct informative presentations in schools and communities addressing critical topics such as substance abuse and suicide prevention.
- Ensure high-quality service delivery through punctuality, thorough preparation, and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Assist in conducting outcome evaluations to assess the impact of services and programs offered.
- Engage in community outreach and special initiatives to enhance awareness of behavioral health issues and available support services.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend scheduled administrative and in-service meetings as required.
- Adhere to the agency's standards for service delivery and participate in quality management and assurance activities.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts as directed by management.
- Provide 20-40 hours of scheduled services, with potential evening and weekend commitments.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; a Bachelor's or Master's degree is preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and group facilitation skills are essential.
- Previous experience in prevention or behavioral health is advantageous.
Additional Skills:
- Ability to maintain composure in crisis situations and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated empathy and positive engagement with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain professional conduct in line with ethical standards and agency policies.
- If driving for agency purposes, a valid Arizona driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage are required.
- A clean driving record with no major infractions is necessary at the time of hire.
