Student Success Advocate

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic advocate to champion student success through a comprehensive guidance and graduation program. This program addresses the academic, career, and social-emotional needs of students, contributing to school-wide college and career readiness efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Develop individualized intervention plans for each student, ensuring they meet graduation requirements.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of student transcripts, academic performance, and behavioral data.
  • Assign courses based on in-depth student assessments.
  • Provide support to a caseload of students through creative interventions, problem-solving, and counseling to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Assess students' physical, social/emotional, and economic needs to provide holistic support.
  • Build strong relationships with parents/guardians to foster constructive parental involvement.
  • Proactively engage with students through phone calls and emails to ensure they are on track and provide encouragement for consistent progress.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from students and parents regarding questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Monitor student attendance and intervene when necessary to promote regular school attendance.
  • Process withdrawals for students who have been absent for 10 consecutive days.
  • Reach out to all students within ten days of dropping out and maintain weekly contact to offer re-enrollment opportunities.
  • Assist with department data entry requirements as needed.
  • Communicate dropout prevention program updates regularly with school administration and staff, and consult with the department on growth, needs, and concerns.
  • Connect students with appropriate student services and resources to meet their individual needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and other school personnel.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of community agencies and their available resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student interactions, interventions, and progress to support student goal achievement. Record successful strategies that result in positive behavior changes or increased engagement.
  • Perform any additional tasks or duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Google Suite, and web-based applications is essential.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated individual.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, be flexible, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to maintain fairness while setting clear expectations when interacting with students.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish and English) is preferred.
