WHO ARE YOU? The ideal candidate will possess a degree in civil or environmental engineering and a keen interest in water and wastewater treatment design projects.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? You will collaborate with Project Engineers on projects that span both private and public sectors. This role allows you to significantly contribute by assisting clients in achieving their objectives. You will have the opportunity to devise innovative solutions utilizing advanced technology while adhering to clients' financial constraints, ensuring they can deliver essential services to their communities.

WHO WILL YOU BE WORKING WITH? As a Project Engineer Assistant, you will engage in cross-functional teamwork, interacting with colleagues across various specialties within The Wooten Company in both North and South Carolina. This position offers a valuable opportunity for professional growth and to enhance TWC's presence in the region.

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Research, data compilation, and analysis
  • Understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes
  • Pump selection and pump station design
  • Hydrology
  • Permitting and code research
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
  • Occasional fieldwork for site inspections and review meetings
  • Daily interaction with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • EI Certification with a goal of obtaining a Professional Engineer license
  • 0-3 years of relevant professional experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
  • Possess a growth mindset, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role is primarily office-based but may require occasional fieldwork, which involves moderate physical effort. Candidates should be able to perform tasks that require bending, standing, and the ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in a professional office setting and utilizes standard office equipment. Fieldwork may expose candidates to varying weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments.
