Hughes Engineering, PLLC is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Engineer to assist in upcoming comprehensive capital projects within the Pharmaceutical Industry. Typical assignments encompass aseptic fill/finish/packaging, bioprocessing, facilities/utilities, and automation integration. As a Project Engineer engaged in pharmaceutical CapEx initiatives, you will collaborate with various departments and disciplines to effectively manage and oversee project components, including cost, schedule, and quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define project scope and strategy in collaboration with client groups and stakeholders to execute capital projects in a cGMP environment.
  • Contribute to the development of Project Engineering deliverables: project lifecycle documents, schedules, budgets, resource identification, conceptual and detailed design, equipment selection, and procurement efforts.
  • Coordinate with startup teams during turnover, startup, and commissioning phases to ensure effective communication and information transfer.
  • Provide prompt engineering solutions to challenges encountered during project assignments.
  • Assist in establishing project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans in consultation with management.
  • Support technical evaluations and project tasks on capital projects from initial funding stages through procurement, installation, startup, and commissioning.
  • Compile project status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.
  • Oversee vendor activities, ensuring coordination and communication to facilitate project progress while maintaining safety standards.
  • Promote a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
  • 2 - 4 years of experience supporting Capital engineering projects in a pharmaceutical, FDA, or similarly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with GMP/cGMP change control processes.
  • Experience in vendor coordination and communication.
  • Skills in Conceptual Design.
  • Proficiency in Technical Documentation, including URS generation.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and work effectively in diverse team settings while maintaining a positive attitude towards project challenges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with project scheduling using Microsoft Project.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
