Position Overview

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Senior Project Engineer within our dynamic Residential Land Development division. The Senior Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that align with both client expectations and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make critical design choices that fulfill the requirements of external clients while considering the implications of these decisions on related project components.
  • Proactively identify and address technical, scheduling, or financial challenges, seeking guidance from the Project Manager or client as necessary.
  • Assist clients in the bidding process or contractor selection when authorized by the Project Manager.
  • Oversee construction activities and supervise field personnel assigned to specific tasks or projects.
  • Respond to inquiries from contractors and prepare necessary project addenda.
  • Recommend and draft change orders as required.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering service proposals, including time and cost estimations for proposed work.
  • Serve as a technical authority on assigned projects, functioning as an individual contributor and taking on Project Manager responsibilities for smaller or specialized projects.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related scientific field, along with relevant work experience.
  • Professional registration (P.E., L.S.) in one or more states where Timmons Group operates is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • A minimum of seven years of design and engineering experience, with a proven ability to act as an authorized representative of the company for signing engineering documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical literature and engineering plans.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, applying professional knowledge to both routine and complex engineering tasks.
  • A commitment to engaging in external activities that represent the firm, including participation in professional associations and community outreach initiatives.
  • Development of financial project management skills through hands-on project work and assigned management tasks.
