Position Overview
We are currently seeking applications for skilled Senior Project Engineer professionals to join our dynamic Residential Land Development team in Raleigh.
The Senior Project Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions that align with both internal and external client expectations. This position involves making significant design choices with minimal guidance from the Project Manager on designated projects. Additionally, the Senior Project Engineer will contribute to marketing efforts and business development while managing assigned projects and maintaining a technical focus.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Making pivotal design decisions that fulfill external client needs while considering the implications of these decisions on related project activities.
- Identifying potential technical, scheduling, or financial challenges proactively and seeking resolutions in collaboration with the Project Manager and/or clients as necessary.
- Assisting clients in the bidding process or contractor selection when authorized by the Project Manager.
- Overseeing construction activities and supervising field personnel assigned to specific tasks or projects.
- Addressing contractor inquiries and issues, and preparing project addenda as required.
- Recommending and preparing change orders as needed.
- Contributing to the development of engineering service proposals, including estimating timeframes and costs for proposed work.
- Serving as a technical authority on assigned projects while also managing smaller scope or specialized projects as designated.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Professional registration (P.E., L.S.) in one or more states where Timmons Group operates is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
- A minimum of seven years of design/engineering experience with a proven ability to act as an authorized representative of the company for signing engineering documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical literature and engineering plans effectively.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, applying professional knowledge to resolve both routine and complex engineering challenges.
- Active participation in external activities representing the firm, including leadership roles in professional associations or community outreach initiatives.
- Development of financial project management skills through assigned project responsibilities.
