This branch of KIPP is dedicated to creating joyful and academically excellent environments that equip students with the skills and confidence to pursue their chosen paths—be it college, career, or beyond—enabling them to lead fulfilling lives and contribute to a more equitable society.

Our region encompasses four schools that collectively educate over 3,000 students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Position Summary
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is seeking a dedicated educator for our middle school mathematics lab. This role is designed to provide additional support to students beyond their core math curriculum.

The educator will focus on small group instruction, monitor academic progress, and ensure students are effectively utilizing blended learning resources to enhance their educational growth. They will also develop lesson plans that incorporate best practices and accommodate the diverse needs of students.

The math lab instructor will manage their own classroom within the specials block of the school day, engaging with all middle school students (grades 4-8) to offer both enrichment and intervention. While whole group instruction is a component of the schedule, the instructor will also conduct small group sessions, facilitate the use of educational technology, and assist students in tracking their math growth objectives. Assessment of student learning will be ongoing, utilizing observations, authentic assessments, and formal evaluations, providing regular feedback to students and parents along with written progress reports.

Teacher Responsibilities
All educators are expected to foster a positive learning environment, implement and/or develop curriculum, assess student performance, build relationships with families, collaborate with colleagues, and fulfill additional duties as assigned. Comprehensive responsibilities will be outlined by the School Leader.

Current Teaching Model
The specials schedule may vary by school. The specials team may consist of up to eight educators, depending on school size, with each teacher instructing multiple grade levels.

Teachers may either travel to classrooms or have students come to their designated teaching space. Class sizes typically average around 26 students, with each class meeting approximately twice a week.
