For this academic year, KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools staff operate under the following schedule from Monday to Friday, with occasional meetings or special events outside of these hours. Note that hours may vary slightly by school:
  • K-8 Staff: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM K-8 Students: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30 PM
  • High School Staff: 6:45 AM - 3:45 PM, High School Students: 7:15 AM - 2:30 PM, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30 PM.
Every Wednesday is designated as a student early release day, allowing educators to engage in weekly professional development and collaborative team meetings. *This does not include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Position Overview

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is in search of a dedicated academic interventionist specializing in mathematics for students in grades 9 through 12 at KIPP Bold City High School. The interventionist's primary focus is to provide additional support to students, complementing their core academic instruction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting small group sessions, monitoring academic progress, ensuring students engage with blended learning resources that foster their development, collaborating with classroom teachers to implement effective student interventions, and performing other assigned duties.

All educators are tasked with fostering a positive classroom atmosphere, delivering our curriculum, assessing student performance, collaborating with their colleagues, building relationships with families, and fulfilling other assigned responsibilities. Comprehensive teacher duties are ultimately defined by the School Leader.

As the interventionist supports mathematics Response to Intervention (RtI) across various grade levels, the model and schedule may vary slightly.

*This role is eligible for instructional stipends such as TSIA and Mileage, which amounted to approximately $15,000 for NTK employees in the previous school year.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (Math 6-12)
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience with a proven record of high achievement in the classroom

Highly Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success in small group instruction

  • Additional certifications in ESE K-12
  • Three or more years of teaching experience with a proven record of high achievement in the classroom
