Adjunct Faculty

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our Department of Secondary Education at Jacksonville State University. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will play a critical role in training world-class teachers who can step into any middle or high school classroom ready to teach.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a variety of courses in Secondary Education, including online, hybrid, and on-campus classes.
- Serve as a university supervisor for teacher candidates completing field experiences (practicum and internship).
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum.
- A Master's degree (or higher) in teaching or teaching related field in Secondary Education.
- Recent experience in middle or high schools.
- Proficiency in the use of basic instructional technology.
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations concerning Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Section 504, IDEA 1997 amendments, and the ADA.
- Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
- Knowledge of educational technology and its applications in the classroom.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
