In the current academic year, the KIPP Jacksonville region comprises four schools serving over 3,000 students from kindergarten through twelfth grade on the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.
  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 4th grade, 6th - 8th grade
  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade

For this academic year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work Monday through Friday, with occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Teacher and student hours may vary slightly by school.
  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm
  • High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is designated as a student early release day, allowing teachers to engage in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This does not include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Position Overview

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is looking for academic interventionists specializing in mathematics for students in a K-8 environment. The interventionist's primary focus is to provide additional support to students beyond their core academic instruction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting small group sessions, monitoring academic progress, ensuring students engage with blended learning resources that foster their development, collaborating with classroom teachers to implement effective student interventions, and fulfilling other assigned duties.

All educators are responsible for fostering a positive classroom atmosphere, delivering our curriculum, assessing student performance, collaborating with their colleagues, building relationships with families, and undertaking additional responsibilities as directed by their School Leader.

The specific model and schedule may vary depending on the grade levels the interventionist supports.

This role is funded through Title 1 resources, as we aim to enhance our support with these funds.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (K-6 Elementary Education OR Middle Grades 5-9 Math)
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience with a proven record of high achievement in the classroom

  • Strong dedication to racial and educational equity for all students
  • Successful completion of a background check, as mandated by law
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success in small group instruction
  • ESOL endorsement or completion of one 60-point workshop in Florida
  • Additional certifications in ESE K-12
  • Three or more years of teaching experience with a proven record of high achievement in the classroom
