Position Overview:

The Marina Operations and Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep of the grounds, facilities, and amenities associated with the Condominium or Homeowners Association (HOA). Reporting directly to the Dock Master or Property Manager, this role ensures that all mechanical systems and equipment are in optimal working condition and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and visual appeal.

This position emphasizes exceptional service aligned with the core values and mission of the Castle Group. The individual will carry out all duties while showcasing superior customer service skills that reflect the standards of Castle Royal Service, collaborating effectively with both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and execute work orders assigned by the Dock Master or Community Association Manager.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the community and report any issues or implement necessary corrections.
  • Utilize and maintain equipment safely and effectively.
  • Foster positive working relationships with community staff.
  • Operate a forklift to transport boats to and from slips and dry storage.
  • Perform painting and touch-ups in common areas as required.
  • Execute general labor tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items as directed.
  • Carry out minor repairs in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical fields without requiring a permit.
  • Maintain records and reports related to maintenance as instructed.
  • Notify the Community Association Manager Maintenance Supervisor of any major repair needs.
  • Inspect all marina lighting on a daily basis.
  • Pressure wash decks, sidewalks, entrances, and air conditioning units as needed to uphold a neat appearance.
  • Regularly check AC drip pans for proper drainage and clogs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of recreational amenities, such as tennis courts and basketball courts.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing duties in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • May be assigned additional tasks by the Dock Master or Community Association Manager.

Qualifications:

Education/Training/Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Forklift Certification is required. A Captain's License is a plus.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
A minimum of two years of general experience in building trades, repair, and maintenance is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.

Computer Skills:
Proficiency in computer hardware and software is preferred but not mandatory.

Language Skills:
Fluency in multiple languages is desirable, with bilingual English/Spanish being preferred.

Travel and Availability:
Willingness to travel for training sessions off-site may be required. Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends based on project needs is essential, along with the ability to respond to emergencies and callouts promptly during on-call rotations.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures. The role requires working in an upright position for extended periods, crawling in tight spaces, and adapting to various environmental conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain). Ability to walk, climb stairs, and handle objects and equipment is necessary. Must be able to communicate effectively and navigate the property efficiently. The ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms is also required. Climbing ladders and working at heights of 12-16 feet may be necessary.

Working Conditions:
Work will be split between indoor and outdoor environments, with the ratio of indoor to outdoor tasks varying. Exposure to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain, is expected while working outdoors.
