Role Summary
The Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in our mission to enhance and preserve lives by collaborating with a team to conduct repairs and perform electrical and mechanical assessments on medical devices. Adhering to established quality standards, the specialist will document findings accurately and may assist in various operational areas, including shipment preparation and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all environmental, health, and safety protocols, as well as departmental policies.
- Maintain a proactive approach to workplace safety, aiming for zero incidents.
- Follow defined Quality Management Systems and complete all necessary documentation.
- Ensure a steady workflow in the service line, working both independently and collaboratively.
- Utilize sound judgment based on established procedures and device readings, escalating issues as necessary.
- Rotate through various roles, including assembly, repair, and testing as required.
- Provide training to new employees when needed.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Additional Duties
- Employ a range of hand and power tools to assemble and disassemble medical devices.
- Utilize machinery and testing aids to conduct assessments and verify compliance with specifications.
- Conduct scheduled calibrations of testing equipment to ensure functionality.
- Assist in packaging and preparing medical devices for shipment.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in computer applications for data entry and navigation is required.
- Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
- Familiarity with hand tools and assembly equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of testing instruments such as multimeters and pressure gauges is advantageous.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Physical capability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
A high school diploma or GED is required. Previous experience in electrical or mechanical assembly, repair, or testing is preferred but not mandatory.
