Marina Operations Technician

Position Overview:

The Marina Operations Technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the grounds, facilities, and amenities within the Condominium or Homeowners Association (HOA). Reporting directly to the Dock Master or Property Manager, this role ensures that all mechanical systems and equipment are operational and maintained in a clean and visually appealing manner.

This position requires a commitment to delivering exceptional service in alignment with the values and mission of the Castle Group. The technician will engage in interdepartmental collaboration and maintain positive relationships with external customers, embodying the principles of Castle Royal Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete work orders assigned by the Dock Master or Community Association Manager.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the community and report any issues or make necessary corrections.
  • Utilize and maintain equipment safely and effectively.
  • Foster strong working relationships with community staff.
  • Operate a forklift to transport boats to and from slips and dry storage.
  • Perform painting and touch-ups in common areas as required.
  • Execute general labor tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items as directed.
  • Carry out minor repairs in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical fields, provided no permits are necessary.
  • Maintain records and reports as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Notify the Community Association Manager of any major repair needs.
  • Inspect marina lighting on a daily basis.
  • Pressure wash decks, sidewalks, and entrances to uphold a neat appearance.
  • Regularly check and maintain AC drip pans to prevent clogs.
  • Oversee recreational amenities, such as tennis and basketball courts.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned by the Dock Master or Community Association Manager.

Qualifications:

Education/Training/Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Forklift certification is required. A Captain's License is a plus.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
A minimum of two years of general experience in building trades, repair, and maintenance is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.

Computer Skills:
Proficiency in computer hardware and software is preferred but not mandatory.

Language Skills:
Fluency in multiple languages is desirable, with bilingual English/Spanish being preferred.

Travel and Availability:
Willingness to travel for off-site training sessions may be required. Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends based on project needs is essential, along with the ability to respond to emergencies during on-call rotations.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs following appropriate safety protocols. The role requires prolonged standing, crawling in tight spaces, and working in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain). Ability to navigate properties and buildings efficiently is necessary.

Working Conditions:
Work will be split between indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
