About the Role

As a Tax Specialist at MS Reinsurance, you will serve as the right-hand person to the Head of Tax, collaborating closely on all tax matters.

You will be a member of the Group Tax team and work closely with the Head of Tax and the Tax Compliance and Reporting Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support in advising on tax implications, including direct and indirect taxes.
  • Help manage external tax advisors to effectively manage tax risks and prepare timely tax advice for the business.
  • Maintain a regular dialogue with key stakeholders to stay up-to-date on business development and communicate corporate tax developments to local management.
  • Maintain tax risk management and tax reporting tools.
  • Support in compliance, including tax filings, returns, transfer pricing documentation, and responses to tax queries.
  • Assist in conducting tax audits and controversy, including reviewing and providing requested documentation, maintaining audit files, and working with Finance and external tax advisors.
Requirements
  • University degree in accounting, finance, or law.
  • 2-3 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm or a multinational corporation.
  • Hands-on experience in tax, with a focus on direct taxes. Knowledge of the US tax system is a plus.
  • Ability to use and analyze financial data effectively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge and experience of insurance and reinsurance is an advantage.
  • Excellent team player with outstanding problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptability skills.
  • Proactive with a 'can-do' attitude and able to work independently.
  • Very good written and spoken English skills; German and/or additional language skills are a plus.
  • Desire to develop professionally and personally in an environment with an active coaching and feedback culture.
