Gait Analysis Expert

The Gait Analysis Expert within the Gait Lab is tasked with conducting comprehensive motion assessments of individuals experiencing diverse gait and movement challenges.
This role involves utilizing cutting-edge motion capture technology to evaluate gait dynamics and generate detailed reports that aid in clinical diagnosis and therapeutic planning.
Additionally, the expert is responsible for collecting clinical metrics, core measures, functional and quality of life surveys, patient care perceptions, and contributing to ongoing quality enhancement initiatives.
Special projects may also be assigned as needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with Dyad Physician Leaders and aligns with the Brain and Orthopedic Leadership Team.
Independently manages complex projects in support of leadership objectives, contributes to and oversees processes, and recommends updates to enhance departmental performance in specialized neuro motor and cerebral palsy programs.
Demonstrates leadership as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with documented outcomes in processes or programs within their area of expertise.
Facilitates and coordinates in-service training focused on evidence-informed practices and literature reviews, emphasizing clinical proficiency.
Translates evidence-informed practices through education and supervision of students in their area of expertise.
Participates in interdisciplinary meetings related to patient care.
Accurately records daily patient documentation, statistics, and charges in accordance with departmental standards.
Ensures documentation reflects evidence-informed practices within their specialty.
Accountable for improving patient access to care.
Conducts and interprets evaluations based on patients' medical histories, developmental stages, diagnoses, and prognoses, providing recommendations based on findings.
Maintains open communication with patients, caregivers, and other stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, home programs, and related therapeutic issues.
Develops care plans that outline deficits, activity limitations, required context and assistance, ensuring that treatment goals are functional, realistic, and measurable.
Recommends and administers treatments based on medical, clinical, functional, and observational data.
Initiates and documents discharge preparations at the evaluation stage, based on maximum potential or when therapy benefits are achieved.
Completes at least one in-service on evidence-informed practices or literature reviews focusing on their clinical expertise.
Engages in at least one department-wide knowledge translation activity centered on evidence-informed practices or literature reviews.
Participates in at least one peer review that incorporates evidence-informed practices into treatment plans, emphasizing their area of expertise.
Maintains a minimum of 50% of continuing education units (CEUs) in their specialty area.
Collaborates with physicians and key stakeholders to establish clinical metrics and quality of life outcomes that reflect the performance of the Cerebral Palsy & Neuromotor Program.
Engages in special projects aimed at promoting the growth, efficiency, and operations of the program.
Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, adhering to best practices from leading centers.
Partners with leadership to set and ensure compliance with program metrics and scorecards.
Actively participates in presentations, publications, and discussions related to the Center of Excellence (COE).
Utilizes software compatible with NCHS technology to lead, develop, and collaborate on data processing, storage, and retrieval programs.
Coordinates with Clinical Research Coordinators for assigned research or quality assurance initiatives.
Collaborates with external institutions on multi-center research projects as necessary.
Minimum QualificationsMaster's Degree in Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Physical Therapy, or a related discipline.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be maintained in good standing throughout employment.
Fingerprint background check and Good Moral Character Affidavit must be initiated within 15 days of hire and completed within 90 days.
Eight years of pediatric clinical experience or seven years plus one year of board certification in a relevant specialty.
Preferred QualificationsFlorida Professional Physical Therapist license is highly preferred.
Pediatric Board Certification in a relevant specialty area and/or Doctoral degree is preferred.
Current membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is preferred.
Experience in research, program development, or teaching roles is advantageous.
Prior experience in a clinical gait lab or motion analysis environment is highly desirable.
Proficiency in motion capture systems (e.g., Vicon, Qualisys), data analysis software (e.g., Visual3D, MATLAB), and force plate technology is essential.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
