Overview:

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing kitchen staff, procurement, production, and presentation of food in a safe and sanitary work environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to work under time constraints and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Kitchen Operations: Direct the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including outlets, banquets, stewarding, and purchasing. Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Lead and Develop Team Members: Manage Human Resources in the kitchen, including interviewing, hiring, training, developing, empowering, coaching, and counseling team members. Conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, and provide open communication vehicles.
  • Plan and Manage Procurement and Production: Plan and manage the procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all food in the hotel in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective manner. Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, and related areas.
  • Develop and Implement Menus: Develop and implement menus and back-up systems within corporate guidelines to improve revenues and profit margins while maintaining quality.
  • Accident Prevention and Compliance: Execute and promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and related expenses. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Two+ years of post-high school education, with culinary education desirable.
  • Experience: Five+ years of employment in a related position.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession, including experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or complex problems and food and beverage management.
  • Leadership and Communication: Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff, and effective verbal and written communication skills to adapt to different audiences.
  • Time Management: Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
