Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy to join our faculty at Georgia Southern University. As a member of our physical therapist education program, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of physical therapists.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our physical therapist education program, with a focus on providing high-quality instruction and clinical experiences. You will also be expected to engage in scholarly activities, such as research and publication, and contribute to the development of our program's curriculum and assessment processes.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and an active, unrestricted physical therapy license. You should also have expertise in gross human anatomy and physiology, human neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, and a willingness to engage in human cadaver dissection. Additionally, you should be committed to engaging with institutional student success initiatives and have a commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced certification or fellowship in a specialty area of physical therapy or related to anatomy instruction is preferred. Experience in full-time teaching/administration in a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant program, or teaching in some other sustained professional or academic capacity, is also desirable. You should have contemporary knowledge in basic musculoskeletal rehabilitation, biomechanics/kinesiology, leadership and professionalism, and evidence-based practice.
