Your Role:
The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for designing, organizing, and delivering skill-building, life-enrichment, and recreational activities for adults with disabilities in both community and center-based settings. Additionally, you will provide transportation services using Rise vehicles.
- Assist in developing curriculum and resources for day services, contributing to a shared library for all Rise programs.
- Plan and coordinate monthly and weekly activity calendars.
- Manage inventory of supplies necessary for activities.
- Collaborate closely with the on-site Rise Supervisor and Case Managers to ensure activities are tailored to individual needs and align with program objectives.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with community partners to create volunteer opportunities.
- Support individuals using a person-centered approach, exemplifying best practices in service delivery.
- Lead by example in providing exceptional service to individuals, their families, and all stakeholders.
- Provide direct assistance to participants, including safe transfers and repositioning as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.).
- Ability to learn and effectively use case management software.
- Willingness to understand and utilize AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) and assistive technology.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Compliance with all relevant background checks and pre-employment requirements.
- Physical capability to perform tasks that involve twisting, bending, reaching, and lifting individuals of varying weights.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience applying person-centered techniques with individuals facing disabilities or barriers.
- A degree in a human services field with at least one year of experience working with adults with disabilities or brain injuries is preferred.
