Job Overview

Position Summary

The Lead Financial Analyst, under the guidance of the Finance Director, is integral to the finance operations, encompassing month-end closing activities, preparation of financial statements, and audit coordination.

This role entails in-depth financial analysis, forecasting, and delivering actionable insights to facilitate strategic business choices.

Moreover, the Lead Financial Analyst works in close partnership with project managers, sales, engineering, and operations teams to guarantee precise financial planning and resource distribution for extensive projects.

This position necessitates collaboration with global teams to ensure alignment and uniformity in financial practices while proactively identifying opportunities for process enhancements and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers to determine estimates at completion (EAC) and forecast revenue for long-term initiatives.
  • Work alongside sales, engineering, and operations to assess and plan for their resource needs.
  • Assist in the annual financial planning process and improvement initiatives. Prepare financial and internal budgets and forecasts in partnership with managers across the organization.
  • Conduct financial, business, or budget analysis and reporting as required.
  • Gather, analyze, and compile financial data from various sources, including sales, project management, and engineering, to generate business intelligence for decision-making.
  • Oversee month-end closing activities, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, financial preparation, and variance analysis.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for review with the Finance Director.
  • Ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis, including ad hoc reports, as needed.
  • Supervise internal and external audits.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, recommending and implementing enhancements to existing methods and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the finance team to promote an inclusive and diverse work environment.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial reporting and analysis.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders across various organizational levels and collaborate with global finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency in financial practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
Qualifications

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Mastery of corporate finance concepts, GAAP, and a solid understanding of international insurance requirements and accepted global business practices.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including problem identification, analysis, action planning, and execution.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness; seeks opportunities to enhance quality and monitors own work to ensure standards are met.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership of work and responsibilities.
  • Capability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision while being a collaborative team player.
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with management and various stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with SQL and ERP software is advantageous.
