Overview
The Lead Financial Analyst, under the guidance of the Finance Director, is integral to the finance operations, encompassing month-end closures, preparation of financial statements, and audit facilitation.
This role is tasked with in-depth financial analysis, forecasting, and delivering actionable insights to bolster strategic business decisions.Moreover, the Lead Financial Analyst works in close partnership with project managers, sales, engineering, and operations teams to guarantee precise financial planning and resource allocation for extensive projects.
This position necessitates collaboration with global teams to ensure alignment and consistency in financial practices while proactively identifying process enhancements and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers to compute estimates at completion (EAC) and forecast revenue for long-term initiatives.
- Partner with sales, engineering, and operations to assess and plan for their resource needs.
- Assist in the annual financial planning process and improvement initiatives. Develop financial and internal budgets and forecasts in conjunction with managers across the organization.
- Conduct financial, business, or budget analysis and reporting as needed.
- Research, gather, and compile financial data from various sources, including sales, project management, and engineering, to generate business intelligence for decision-making.
- Oversee month-end closing activities, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, financial preparation, and variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for review with the Finance Director.
- Ensure that accounting personnel adhere to accepted practices and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provide financial insights and analysis, including ad hoc reports, as required.
- Supervise internal and external audits.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to existing methods and procedures.
- Foster continuous learning and development within the finance team to promote an inclusive and diverse workplace culture.
- Deliver ad hoc financial reporting and analysis.
- Effectively collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders across various organizational levels, working with global finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency in financial practices.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Must exhibit a strong understanding of corporate finance concepts, GAAP, and a medium-level comprehension of international insurance requirements and accepted global business practices.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, including problem identification, analysis, action planning, and execution.
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness; seeks opportunities to enhance quality and monitors personal work to ensure standards are met.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Must be a self-starter who takes ownership of work and responsibilities.
- Capability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision while being a collaborative team member.
- Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with general management and various stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with SQL and ERP software is advantageous.
