About the Role: The Systems Engineering Division (SED) brings exceptional systems engineering expertise to various governmental and private entities, including universities and nonprofit organizations, that are engaged in advanced space technology applications. Our Astrodynamics Department specializes in mission design, orbit selection, and multi-body dynamics.

Work Environment: This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for occasional remote work, tailored to the needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and actively participate in projects that involve technical evaluations and software development related to multi-body dynamics and cislunar operations.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses, trade studies, and collaborative assessments to identify and meet customer requirements.

People Management Duties:

  • Supervise a team of engineers, scientists, and interns focused on modeling and simulating cislunar missions.
  • Collaborate with department managers to cultivate a high-performing team of cislunar dynamics analysts in an inclusive environment.
  • Provide both technical and managerial guidance in the design, development, and validation of cislunar mission designs.
  • Support departmental operations in various areas, including:
    • Business functions such as budget management and resource allocation.
    • Project assignment management.
    • Leading departmental initiatives.
    • Staff development through performance management.
    • Participating in recruitment processes.
    • Engaging with engineers, managers, and senior leadership through technical discussions and briefings.
    • Conducting performance evaluations and setting goals for team members.
    • Acting as a Local Employee Advocate for staff.

Qualifications:

To excel as a Cislunar and Multi-Body Dynamics Engineering Manager, candidates should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of dynamics systems theory and n-body problems.
  • Experience working with program office personnel.
  • Strong skills in hiring, mentoring, and developing talent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A proven track record of initiating and completing projects and leading technical efforts.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A graduate degree in aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics.
  • Current SAP Access.
  • Experience interfacing directly with government clients.
