Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and consolidate financial statements while delivering daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses. Investigate accounting issues to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- General Ledger Management: Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, manage journal entries and invoices, and reconcile accounts for monthly, quarterly, or annual closing periods.
- Audit and Tax Coordination: Act as a liaison for external auditors and tax professionals, participating in the preparation of annual audits and tax returns.
- Internal Controls Development: Assist in formulating internal controls and policies to comply with regulations and best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various business functions to provide reliable data, reporting, and analyses essential for strategic decision-making.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Experience: 12+ years in accounting, including:
- 5+ years in Government services contracting.
- 5+ years of experience with Deltek Costpoint.
- 5+ years in general ledger and monthly closing processes.
- Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Demonstrated analytical, technological, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: MBA with 10+ years of accounting experience.
- Certifications: CPA.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment requiring frequent computer and phone usage, as well as periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
- May involve lifting up to 20 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Apogee offers a variety of medical plans, including a high deductible health plan with an HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, as well as dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, and various paid leaves.
- The salary range for this position is $113,000 to $138,660, with consideration of various factors including responsibilities, prior experience, education, certifications, and clearance requirements.
