Position Overview

The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides exceptional systems engineering expertise to the U.S. government and various public and private entities, including universities and nonprofit organizations, engaged in the advanced application of space technology. The Astrodynamics Department specializes in mission design, orbital selection, and multi-body dynamics.

Work Location/Model: This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for occasional telecommuting, depending on organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Your technical leadership duties will encompass:

  • Leading and contributing to projects focused on technical analyses and software development related to multi-body dynamics and cislunar operations.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and trade studies in collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify and fulfill customer requirements.

Your management responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing a team of engineers, scientists, and interns dedicated to modeling and simulating cislunar missions.
  • Collaborating with department managers to foster a high-performing team of cislunar dynamics analysts in an inclusive environment.
  • Providing technical and managerial guidance in the design, development, and validation of cislunar mission strategies.
  • Supporting departmental functions, including budget management, project assignments, and staff development.
  • Engaging in recruitment and hiring processes, conducting performance assessments, and serving as a resource for staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of dynamic systems theory and n-body problems.
  • Experience collaborating with program office personnel.
  • Proven abilities in mentoring and developing team members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead projects and interact with diverse organizations.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

It would be advantageous to possess:

  • A graduate degree in aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics.
  • Current SAP Access.
  • Experience working directly with government clients.
