Compensation: $18 - $25 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing geotechnical projects, including design calculations and recommendations.
  • Oversee drilling operations and document soil borings.
  • Classify soil types and assign laboratory testing.
  • Conduct assessments of soils, foundations, and concrete.
  • Perform concrete evaluations and quality assurance tasks for deep foundations.
  • Utilize conventional GPS equipment for boring layout.
  • Execute floor flatness assessments.
  • Prepare detailed daily field reports with relevant photographs and sketches.
  • Utilize hand augers to gather subsurface data and soil samples.
  • Observe and document various construction activities, including foundation installation and ground improvement techniques.
  • Interpret engineering and construction plans.
  • Engage daily with project team members, including contractors and project managers.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work outdoors and engage in hands-on tasks.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for job site access.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong writing and communication abilities.
  • Physically capable of meeting the demands of walking and climbing on construction sites, as well as handling testing equipment (including lifting up to 50 lbs).
  • Preferred: coursework in civil engineering, environmental science, agriculture, forestry, geology, or related fields; ACI Level 1 Certification; APNGA Training.
