Your Profile:

Compensation: $18 - $25 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing geotechnical projects, including design calculations and recommendations.
  • Oversee drilling operations and document soil borings.
  • Classify soil types and determine necessary laboratory tests.
  • Conduct tests on soils, foundations, and various concrete types.
  • Ensure quality assurance for deep foundation projects.
  • Utilize conventional GPS equipment for boring layout.
  • Perform floor flatness assessments.
  • Prepare detailed daily field reports with relevant photographs and sketches.
  • Collect subsurface information and soil samples using hand augers.
  • Observe and document construction activities, particularly foundation installation methods.
  • Interpret engineering and construction plans.
  • Communicate regularly with project team members, including contractors and project managers.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work in outdoor conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for job site access.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Preferred: Relevant coursework in civil engineering, environmental science, geology, or related fields.
