WSP is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Consultant to enhance our team.

Your Contributions
  • Lead and coordinate field assessments and specialized inspections of subsurface investigations in soil and rock.
  • Conduct geotechnical engineering design and analysis for various structures, including bridges, buildings, tunnels, and retaining walls, with minimal oversight from senior engineers.
  • Draft and prepare geotechnical memoranda, data reports, and design documentation.
  • Oversee field observations and special inspections during geotechnical construction activities.
  • Act as a task leader in the development of reports and contract documentation.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and review their work for quality assurance.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of geotechnical projects in surrounding regions.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and familiarity with related fields (Structures, Civil, Environmental, and/or Planning).
  • Understanding of applicable codes and standards.
  • Experience in the design and construction of highway, bridge, building, and underground projects.
  • Proficiency in developing contract documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel and perform fieldwork as necessary.
  • Successful completion of WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Commitment to ethical decision-making and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and compliance with health and safety policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering is preferred.
  • US PE registration or the ability to obtain it in the near future.
  • Experience managing small to mid-sized projects.
  • Completion of 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) is preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training is desirable.
