Community Partners in Action (CPA) has a rich history of nearly 150 years, dedicated to advocating for criminal justice reform and enhancing the dignity of individuals both in and out of incarceration. Our comprehensive programs encompass reentry support, housing solutions, youth initiatives, and a renowned Prison Arts Program, all aimed at fostering a lasting positive impact on individuals and society. Each year, we serve approximately 7,000 individuals across Connecticut, thanks to the collaboration and support from various stakeholders, including individuals, government entities, private funders, organizations, and businesses.

Program Overview
CPA offers transitional housing services to clients referred by the Court Support Services Division, ensuring they meet their program commitments. Clients engage in day programming at our designated facilities.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess a High School diploma or GED, with a preference for those holding an associate or bachelor's degree. Experience in the human services sector, particularly with justice-involved individuals facing substance abuse, mental health, or behavioral challenges, is highly valued. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to engage with diverse populations, possess crisis management skills, and uphold the belief that individuals can change and deserve access to quality services and recovery opportunities. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and additional hours as necessary is essential. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and facilitate resident activities in accordance with program policies, ensuring a safe and secure environment through effective de-escalation and motivational techniques.
- Act as an advocate for participants, promoting program engagement and accountability.
- Serve as a mediator to resolve resident conflicts in a constructive manner.
- Maintain professional boundaries with residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors at all times.
- Exemplify professional conduct and ethical standards, serving as a positive role model for residents and staff.
- Assist in addressing resident needs as appropriate.
- Familiarize oneself with and implement all agency policies and procedures governing facility operations, including emergency protocols and inspections.
- Document incidents accurately and report them to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure visitor identification compliance and conduct necessary searches as per facility guidelines.
- Facilitate client intake and orientation processes as needed.
- Conduct random drug testing and breathalyzer assessments.
- Engage in professional development opportunities through staff meetings and training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as required.
