Hospitality Operations Supervisor

Position: Hospitality Operations Supervisor – Latitude 65
At Latitude 65, we are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences in Alaska. As the dining establishment for Borealis Basecamp, an adventure resort near Fairbanks, we welcome guests from across the globe to witness the northern lights while enjoying exquisite Alaskan cuisine. Our restaurant operates off the grid, focusing on local and sustainable culinary practices. We seek a personable, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to oversee our front of house operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all front of house personnel, including servers, bussers, and hosts. Responsibilities include scheduling, organizing tasks, and ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards, as well as adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef in the recruitment and training of front of house staff, ensuring all employees are well-versed in proper alcohol service protocols.
- Administer the alcohol program to guarantee quality, minimize waste, maintain accurate inventory, and ensure the security of alcoholic beverages.
- Manage the reservation system for Latitude 65 utilizing OpenTable.
- Create a welcoming and customer-focused atmosphere for all guests.
- Handle daily cash register operations and ensure accurate closing procedures.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports as requested by the Executive Chef and other department heads.
- Coordinate with various departments, including activities management and housekeeping, to ensure seamless communication regarding room deliveries and dining services.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper closure of all dining areas and workstations.
- Uphold quality standards established by the Executive Chef and other leadership.
- Update and print menus to reflect accurate offerings, including beverage and seasonal selections.
- Collaborate with the Chef and other departments to flawlessly execute personalized guest events.
- Arrive punctually, prepared for work, and in appropriate uniform.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience with a minimum of 2 years in a management role.
- Preferred experience in fine dining establishments.
- Familiarity with various alcoholic beverages, including beers, wines, and spirits.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Legally eligible to work in establishments serving alcohol.
- Availability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Quickbooks, MS Excel, MS Teams, and MS Word.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Possession of an Alaska TAPS card.
- Holds an Alaska food handler's card or Safe Serve certification.
- Accurate cash handling and management skills.
- Punctuality for all meetings and shifts is essential.
