The Process Development Technology & Innovation Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise to advance innovative manufacturing processes. This position is essential for achieving safety, quality, production, and cost objectives within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the company's principles of process and behavioral safety, ensuring compliance with life-saving regulations.
  • Lead and facilitate various projects aimed at enhancing operational performance through laboratory, pilot, and full-scale trials.
  • Design, evaluate, and implement modifications to plant equipment and processes to meet safety, environmental, production, reliability, quality, and cost targets.
  • Prepare and present justifications for project initiatives.
  • Utilize a foundational understanding of maintenance practices to aid in troubleshooting and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Conduct complex calculations and apply industry standards independently.
  • Employ company and industry standards to ensure effective design and engineering practices.
  • Support colleagues in plant operations and trial execution, taking a leadership role in trials.
  • Review vendor documentation for compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • Ensure data integrity and functionality by applying statistical methods in accordance with Six Sigma principles.
  • Communicate effectively and prepare presentations on emerging technologies based on technical project reports.
  • Understand and align with the safety and environmental objectives of the plant and department.
  • Promote a robust safety culture that emphasizes adherence to safety principles and regulations.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams, contributing to collaborative efforts.
  • Engage in HAZOP and PHA reviews to assess process safety.
  • Develop Process Data Sheets and Specifications to support operational needs.
  • Collaborate with various functional teams, including Safety, Maintenance, Reliability, Project Engineering, and Process Controls.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of seven to ten years of proven engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, with a focus on process development.
  • Experience managing projects with multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in decision-making tools and data analysis.
  • Proficient in MS Office, SAP, Excel, and Minitab.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work a 12-hour shift schedule and capable of lifting 50 lbs during trials and laboratory work.

Demonstrated ability to lead the development, evaluation, and design of new and existing chemical processes.

Familiarity with statistical design and evaluation methodologies.

Capability to utilize analytical processes for problem-solving and operational troubleshooting.

Open to occasional travel, approximately 25% of the time.

Work Schedule:

This is a salaried, exempt position with standard working hours.
