Position Overview:
Schneider Electric is in search of a proactive and skilled individual to take on the role of Advanced Manufacturing Engineer. This position is pivotal in enhancing automation and technological advancements within our manufacturing operations across North America. Your expertise will be essential in pinpointing and implementing enhancements in our quality assurance processes at various facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage projects utilizing Six Sigma methodologies to analyze process flows, optimize cycle times, enhance first-pass yield, minimize process variability, and bolster process reliability.
  • Oversee all new capacity investments to ensure the deployment of optimal manufacturing practices.
  • From identified capacity gaps or technology roadmap initiatives, devise automation solutions based on Best Available Techniques to deliver value-added outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Electrical and Controls teams to develop automation concepts and establish solution specifications along with budgetary targets for Requests for Quotation.
  • Engage in the selection process for Original Equipment Manufacturer Machine Tool Builders, whether internal or external.
  • Work alongside the Automation Project Manager to ensure technical oversight and adherence to project timelines for equipment delivery.
  • Conduct site acceptance tests and validate equipment performance prior to shipment.
  • Assist in the commissioning of process equipment at manufacturing sites as necessary.
  • Perform factory acceptance tests post-commissioning to confirm compliance with supplier agreements.
  • Ensure all relevant project documentation is accurately captured and stored in digital systems for knowledge retention.
  • Collaborate with Global Deployment and Industrialization teams to advance the application of documented Best Available Techniques.
  • Partner with manufacturing facilities to construct and refine the site technology roadmap, enhancing technical productivity and supporting profit and loss improvements.
  • Continuously improve the existing automation and testing equipment utilized in the assembly and testing of products.
  • Upgrade legacy automation systems to current standards, ensuring sustainable process architectures and solid financial returns.
  • Provide troubleshooting support and training for local plant personnel.
  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives across various industrial manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on productivity enhancements.
  • Offer advanced manufacturing support for technologies that facilitate Smart Factory initiatives, including:
    • Digital Manufacturing and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions.
    • Collaborative Robotics.
    • Stage Gate Visualization.
    • Augmented and Virtual Reality Applications.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or a related STEM field) from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical, Tooling, Manufacturing, or Industrialization Engineering within an automated industrial setting.
  • Experience in developing quality processes, including process flow analysis and stability improvements, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with NLA (New Line Architecture), Line Architecture Methodology (LADM), and Method Time Management (MTM) is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Safety Engineering, particularly in relation to Automated Machinery Safety.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial automation technologies such as hydraulics, pneumatics, servo motion, robotics, and functional testing.
  • A self-driven approach to exploring and innovating new technologies for continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Pro-E / CREO software.
  • Certification as a Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) or similar is a plus.
  • Willingness to relocate as necessary.
