Department Overview
The Department of Family Medicine within the College of Community Health Sciences at the University of Alabama is pleased to announce an opening for a faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level. This role is aimed at full-time, non-tenure earning clinical track BC/BE family physicians to support the department's expanding requirements.

Position Summary
The selected candidate will engage in various responsibilities, including educating medical students and residents during their clinical training, participating in research and scholarly activities, and delivering direct patient care. The focus will be on rural outpatient and inpatient primary care settings, alongside typical administrative duties associated with a faculty role.

Established in 1972, the College of Community Health Sciences was created to address the critical healthcare needs in rural Alabama. The College has successfully graduated numerous Family Medicine residents and educated a significant number of medical students. Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree and be Board eligible/Board Certified in Family Medicine, with the completion of an Obstetrics fellowship. Compliance with Alabama medical licensure requirements is essential, and candidates must secure licensure prior to the commencement of their role.

Preferred Qualifications
A proven record of scholarship, particularly in the areas of learning and teaching within a health professions or medical school context, is highly desirable. Successful applicants will demonstrate a collaborative spirit, a commitment to working within multidisciplinary teams, and possess excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
