Position Overview:
The Department of Family Medicine at the College of Community Health Sciences, University of Alabama, is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time, non-tenure earning clinical track faculty position for board-certified or board-eligible family physicians. This role is essential to support the expanding needs of our department.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will engage in various responsibilities within the Department of Family, Internal, & Rural Medicine. These include:
- Educating medical students and residents during their clinical training.
- Conducting research and contributing to scholarly activities.
- Providing direct patient care, with a focus on rural outpatient and inpatient primary care settings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree and be board eligible or board certified in Family Medicine. Additionally, applicants must fulfill the medical licensure requirements of Alabama and obtain licensure prior to the commencement of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
A demonstrated history of scholarly work, particularly in the areas of education and training within a medical or health professions context, is highly desirable. Ideal candidates will exhibit a collaborative mindset, a proactive approach to teamwork, and possess exceptional communication skills in both written and spoken English.
