Position Overview

About This Opportunity We are in search of a dedicated laboratory scientist to contribute to essential PET radiotracer innovation initiatives, aimed at enhancing imaging biomarker identification and development for neurology, immunology, and rare disease applications. You will become part of a dynamic team of in vivo and in vitro researchers focused on creating and validating novel PET tracers in animal disease models. The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative environments and possesses practical experience in early-stage preclinical radiotracer innovation. A solid foundation in disease biology is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently design and implement in vivo animal studies to create innovative PET tracers for neurology, immunology, and rare disease projects.
  • Support initiatives utilizing various therapeutic approaches, including small molecules, antisense oligonucleotides, antibodies, and gene therapy.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot relevant instruments and methodologies, including PET, CT, and gamma counters.
  • Collaborate closely with EHS and radiation safety personnel to maintain a secure working environment.

Candidate Profile

You have a proven history of effectively utilizing PET or SPECT imaging in rodent models and applying those tracers to disease contexts. You exhibit adaptability, self-drive, curiosity, and enthusiasm while collaborating with peers.

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Capability to independently design and conduct PET/SPECT imaging experiments.
  • Experience handling radioactive substances and laboratory animals.
  • Practical experience with one or more of the following therapeutic modalities: small molecules, antisense oligonucleotides, antibodies, gene therapy.

Desirable Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in PET/SPECT tracer innovation.
  • Familiarity with preclinical PET image analysis techniques and software (e.g., VivoQuant).
  • Knowledge of biochemistry laboratory techniques (e.g., SDS-PAGE, ELISA), fluorescence microscopy, tissue staining/histology, in vitro cell culture.
  • Background in immunology or related fields.
