AbbVie is seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our team in the Molecular Profiling and Drug Delivery department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physicochemical characterization and formulation design, with experience in preclinical development of small molecule and/or biologics candidates.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of preclinical formulations for initial safety and efficacy assessments
- Design and prepare formulations, including solutions/suspensions/emulsions, to enable preclinical acute and chronic in vivo studies
- Interpret and communicate results from characterization and formulation studies to advise the selection of molecules with properties suitable for development
- BS (12+ yrs. experience), MS (10+ yrs. experience) or PhD (4+ yrs experience) in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Chemistry
- Familiarity with the role that physicochemical properties play in drug delivery and formulation design
- Working knowledge of physiological barriers to drug absorption, including various potential transport mechanisms
