Position:

Mid-Level Software Tester

About KBR:

KBR's Defense Systems Engineering, Naval Solutions Division is in search of a Mid-Level Software Tester (Secret Clearance). The ideal candidate will contribute to a skilled software team focused on the development and maintenance of critical applications. The primary responsibility will involve software testing, which includes crafting and reviewing test cases and assessing the software applications, while engaging in the complete software development lifecycle. The candidate is expected to employ tools and adhere to processes that guarantee the delivery of high-quality software that meets stakeholder requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate, develop, review, and implement test plans and procedures for essential systems to ensure quality and performance standards.
  • Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle to support team goals.
  • Create tests that verify compliance of the software with specifications.
  • Assess software component releases (services, user interface, etc.).
  • Promote continuous improvement by exploring alternatives and technologies to enhance test coverage and automation.
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with both technical and non-technical personnel. Collaborate well in a team setting; demonstrate the ability to work harmoniously with others and adhere to business processes. Quickly comprehend and adapt to software application requirements. Exhibit strong communication, writing, and editing capabilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen. Must currently possess a DoD Secret Security Clearance or have the capacity to obtain and maintain one.
  • Education & Experience: BS/BA degree with 3 years of experience in software application testing, conducting software test activities. Additional experience may substitute for a BS degree (10+ years for high school diploma holders, 6+ for those with an associate degree).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Agile and SAFe software development methodologies.
  • Experience in a software development environment, utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps, Telerik, Docker, Turbo on Windows, Virtual Machines/Desktops.
  • Experience with test automation tools and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Teams.
  • Military background or knowledge is a plus.

Work Environment: This position is remote, with occasional in-office attendance required for testing events, customer engagements, and meetings.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
