Job Overview:

The Kentucky Cancer Registry (KCR) is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the development and implementation of educational and training initiatives, as well as data auditing processes aimed at ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of cancer data. This role is vital to the management team of KCR, which coordinates statewide cancer case reporting from a variety of sources, including healthcare facilities and state agencies.

The Quality Assurance Manager will also be responsible for creating educational materials to facilitate electronic reporting and processing. Eventually, this position will lead a team of oncology data specialists tasked with various educational, training, and auditing responsibilities. This is a significant opportunity to contribute to cancer reporting efforts in Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver training programs for data reporting.
  • Audit data to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Create educational materials for electronic tools.
  • Supervise a team of data specialists.
Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in computer applications, data management software, and Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Familiarity with EPIC and Electronic Health Records is preferred.

Supervisory Role:

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree coupled with 5 or more years of experience in nursing, medical coding, or Health Information Management, along with an ODS Certification (formerly CTR – Certified Tumor Registrar) is preferred.
