The ideal candidate should have prior experience with military mission management systems and hold a Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related technical fields such as Computer Science, Computer Hardware, Mathematics, or Physics. A DOD Secret clearance is required, and candidates should have an active clearance or the capability to obtain one.
Position Details:
- Job Title: Quality Assurance Software Engineer
- Work Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday
- Classification: Exempt
- Location: Onsite with occasional travel as necessary
- Salary Range: $65,000 to $130,000 based on experience
Key Qualifications:
- Experience with computer systems utilizing Linux and command line interfaces
- Strong background in troubleshooting both hardware and software
- Understanding of DoD and DCSA cybersecurity protocols
- Familiarity with DoD sensor systems, including EOIR, Radar, SIGINT, etc.
- Experience with deployment to DoD cloud environments, particularly IL5 and above
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Installing, configuring, and testing systems and software
- Reviewing software specifications and preparing testing setups
- Participating in design evaluations and contributing to requirements discussions
- Setting up test bench systems to validate software specifications
- Collaborating with clients to clarify software requirements
- Assisting in the derivation of software requirements
- Creating software testing procedures to validate specifications
- Compiling test reports and analyzing results
- Conducting field tests at various locations
Preferred Experience:
- Proficient in Linux environments
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and tools
- Familiarity with software configuration management and version control systems
- Strong software troubleshooting and assessment capabilities
- Understanding of DoD mission systems, sensors, and networks
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (mandatory)
- Previous experience with Minotaur systems is highly desirable
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 40 lbs
- Capability to navigate confined spaces
- Access to various government locations and facilities
- Reliable transportation for travel between office and government sites
