About KBR:

KBR's Defense Systems Engineering, Naval Solutions Division is in search of a Mid-Level Software Tester (Secret Clearance). The ideal candidate will be integrated into a skilled software team responsible for the development and upkeep of mission-critical applications. The primary focus will be on software testing, which includes drafting and reviewing test cases and assessing the software application(s) while engaging in the complete software development lifecycle. The candidate will be expected to employ tools and adhere to processes that guarantee the delivery of high-quality software that meets stakeholder requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, review, and implement test plans and procedures for mission-critical systems to ensure optimal quality and performance.
  • Contribute to all stages of the development lifecycle in alignment with team goals.
  • Create tests that confirm the software complies with established specifications.
  • Validate software component releases (services, user interface, etc.).
  • Promote continuous improvement by exploring alternatives and technologies to enhance test coverage and automation.
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with both technical and non-technical personnel. Experience in collaborative environments is essential; ability to work harmoniously with others and adhere to business processes. Quick adaptability to software application requirements is crucial. Strong communication, writing, and editing skills are necessary.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen. Must currently possess a DoD Secret Security Clearance or have the capability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Education & Experience: A BS/BA degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience as a software application tester, executing software test activities. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a BS degree (10+ years for those with a high school diploma, 6+ for those with an associate degree).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Agile and SAFe software development methodologies.
  • Experience in a software development environment, utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps, Telerik, Docker, Turbo on Windows, and Virtual Machines/Desktops.
  • Experience with test automation tools and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Teams.
  • Military background/knowledge/Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Remote Work: This position is remote, with occasional in-office attendance required for testing events, customer engagements, and meetings.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
