KBR's Defense Systems Engineering, Naval Solutions Division is in search of a Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Secret Clearance) to become a vital member of our dynamic software team dedicated to the development and maintenance of essential applications. The selected individual will focus on software testing, which includes drafting and reviewing test cases and assessing software applications, while engaging in the complete software development lifecycle. The role demands adherence to tools and methodologies that guarantee the delivery of high-quality software that meets stakeholder expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate, create, assess, and implement test strategies and protocols for critical systems to ensure superior quality and performance.
  • Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle to support team goals.
  • Devise tests that verify software compliance with established specifications.
  • Authenticate software component releases (services, user interfaces, etc.).
  • Promote continuous enhancement by exploring alternatives and technologies to boost test coverage and automation.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in collaborative environments is essential; the ability to work harmoniously with others and adhere to business protocols is required. Quick adaptability to software application requirements is necessary, along with excellent communication, writing, and editing capabilities.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen. Must currently possess a DoD Secret Security Clearance or have the capability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Education & Experience: A BS/BA degree accompanied by 3 years of experience in software application testing, executing software test functions. Additional experience may substitute for a BS degree (10+ years for those with a high school diploma, 6+ for those with an associate degree).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Agile and SAFe software development methodologies.
  • Experience in a software development setting, utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps, Telerik, Docker, Turbo on Windows, and Virtual Machines/Desktops.
  • Proficiency with test automation tools and methodologies.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Teams.
  • Military experience or knowledge is advantageous.

This role is primarily remote, with occasional in-office attendance for testing events, customer engagements, and meetings.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
