Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for Home Health Visits

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Home Healthcare Team at Physicians Choice Home Health. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in providing quality home health visits to our patients in the comfort of their own homes.
Job Summary:The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist to provide occupational therapy services to patients in their homes. The COTA will participate in the ongoing evaluation of patient's functional status, identify hazards or barriers to independent living, and teach new skills or retrain patients in daily activities. The COTA will also maintain accurate clinical records, communicate with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to in-services and case conferences.
Responsibilities:- Participate in the ongoing evaluation of patient's functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, and work capacity.
- Identify hazards or barriers to independent living in the home environment and report to the registered occupational therapist.
- Teach new skills or retrain patients in daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and cooking, in accordance with organization policy.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, including clinical notes and reports to the registered occupational therapist.
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Contribute to in-services, case conferences, and other meetings as required by Physicians Choice Home Health policy.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Certified with the National Certification Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Licensed by the State Board of Healing Arts in accordance with state licensure laws.
- Good verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to travel to different patients' homes.
- Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
