Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant for Home Health Visits

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our Home Healthcare Team at Physicians Choice Home Health. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality home health visits to our patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services to patients in their homes. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and be part of a compassionate and dedicated healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to patients in their homes, under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
  • Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
  • Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage, as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Observe and report to the Physical Therapist and Physicians Choice Home Health personnel the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient's condition.
  • Instruct patients in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient treatment and progress.
  • Participate in Physicians Choice Home Health Home Care Team Members meetings and Inservice Education Program.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program with an Associate's degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Current certification or license as required by state law.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Ability to travel to different patients' homes.
  • Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

Salary Range

Physicians Choice Home Health currently pays PTAs $40-$50 per visit, and $25 per hour for in-services, trainings, and orientations. Per visit mileage reimbursement is offered for W2 employees.
