Position Overview:
As a Program Manager focused on Equity, you will play a crucial role in advising the leadership of the Department of Transportation on civil rights compliance and transportation equity matters.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate in the creation, execution, and assessment of the Department's Equity Action Plan alongside various equity and DEIA initiatives.
2. Act as the Designated Federal Officer for the Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity.
3. Represent the Department in discussions, briefings, and conferences regarding cross-modal civil rights and transportation equity challenges, engaging with strategic partners both within and outside the Department.
4. Manage additional special projects as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will possess strong program and project management capabilities, comprehensive knowledge of civil rights compliance programs, and transportation equity initiatives. Experience in generating reports and briefing documents for executive leadership, as well as planning and executing inclusive engagement strategies for employees and external stakeholders in the transportation industry, is essential.

Employment Conditions:
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and meet specialized experience requirements. All required documentation must be submitted by the designated closing date. This position requires travel, and a government-issued travel card will be provided for official business only.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level, including:
- Expertise in developing and applying program management principles to transportation and civil rights programs.
- Experience in formulating and implementing strategic action plans and performance reports.
- Ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary and government-wide stakeholders.

Candidates will be evaluated based on their knowledge and competencies in the following areas:
- Technical Credibility: Understanding and application of relevant principles and regulations.
- Compliance: Familiarity with assessing and monitoring programs for compliance with federal laws.
- Oral and Written Communication: Ability to convey information effectively and persuasively to various audiences.
- Leadership: Capability to influence and motivate others while adapting leadership styles to different situations.
