The Solar Equity Program Analyst will play a crucial role in advancing the Solar Energy Technologies Office's (SETO) initiatives aimed at enhancing access to distributed solar programs for low-income and disadvantaged communities. This role encompasses a variety of significant benefits, including increased household savings, enhanced resilience, wealth generation, and workforce development. The ideal candidate will be an organized multi-tasker with strong interpersonal skills and direct experience in community-based solar projects, solar project development and financing, affordable housing, or community development. A passion for addressing clean energy challenges to ensure an equitable transition to a clean energy economy is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects and programs for SETO initiatives focused on improving solar access through financing and innovative solutions for Low Income and Disadvantaged Communities (LIDAC), including initiatives like the National Community Solar Partnership (NCSP).
  • Utilize expertise in solar project development, financing, consumer protections, and energy policy to support strategic planning and the creation of new programs aimed at expanding access to solar and related resources.
  • Collaborate with various US Department of Energy (DOE) offices, national laboratories, and federal partners to develop resources that promote equitable access to solar and distributed energy technologies.
  • Oversee project management, performance monitoring, documentation, and evaluation of solar energy access initiatives.
  • Facilitate partner and stakeholder engagement activities, including collaborative management, workshops, conferences, and other events.
  • Assist SETO in the development and execution of programming related to solar equity and distributed energy resources.
  • Possess knowledge of solar energy workforce training, industry needs, and the intersection of solar workforce development with other technologies, while identifying potential programming opportunities.
  • Understand the solar energy workforce's composition and advocate for equitable access to training in underserved communities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5-10 years of relevant hands-on experience.
  • Experience in solar industry project development, particularly for community solar and low-income residential solar.
  • Familiarity with solar project financing structures and proforma development.
  • Knowledge of solar technology adoption by Low to Moderate-income Individuals (LMI) and the ability to develop programming to enhance equitable solar adoption.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Successful completion of drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in solar deployment.
  • Background in solar project development and financing.
  • Experience in consumer education and outreach.
  • Familiarity with LIDAC.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders in program activities.
  • Experience supporting government programs related to market transformation.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and various personalities.
  • Proven success in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
Location:

This position is based in Washington, DC with a hybrid work arrangement.

Benefits:

BGS offers a competitive compensation package, including Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, 401K, and Long and Short-Term Disability.

Starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $80,000 and $170,000 annually, commensurate with experience and geographical location.
