Position Overview

The Clinical Counselor at Lennox CMHC, Inc. plays a pivotal role in delivering a range of therapeutic services designed to ensure high-quality care and support for clients throughout their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough screenings and evaluations of potential clients prior to their admission, utilizing effective intervention techniques and assessment skills.
  • Provide suitable referral options when necessary and establish initial contact with newly admitted clients to offer support and orientation regarding the program's philosophy.
  • Perform comprehensive Psychosocial Assessments to evaluate client needs and identify presenting issues, summarizing findings in a cohesive written format.
  • Maintain on-call availability during weekends and nights, ensuring consistent support for clients.
  • Facilitate both group and individual therapy sessions in accordance with established program standards.
  • Document client progress and participation on a daily basis, ensuring all care is delivered in a professional and therapeutic manner.
  • Develop and implement personalized recovery plans for each client, setting measurable goals and objectives.
  • Utilize information gathered from various assessments to create individualized recovery plans within 24 hours of client admission.
  • Regularly review and update recovery plans during clinical staffing meetings.
  • Assist clients with discharge planning, providing necessary referrals and directing them to continuing care programs.
  • Prepare and deliver educational lectures on addiction and relapse prevention, ensuring the use of current trends and statistics.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding client progress with facility staff and referral sources through diligent record-keeping.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and policies while demonstrating a commitment to the facility's philosophy and ethics.

Administrative Duties:

  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with insurance and managed care companies for client planning and reviews.
  • Coordinate transportation and ancillary services for clients as needed.
  • Participate in in-service training and team meetings to enhance professional development.

As a representative of Lennox CMHC, Inc., the Clinical Counselor is expected to uphold a professional rapport with clients, staff, and the community, ensuring a therapeutic environment conducive to recovery.
